Inspiration Project: Sarah Cooper Photography
Welcome back! I wanted to tell y’all about some work that I got to create that was inspired by someone I respect in the San Antonio art community. For one of my last classes during my senior quarter at The Art Institute of San Antonio, I had to choose a photographer that I was inspired by to research their style development, then create 10 images that emulated their particular style.
I chose Sarah Cooper, a photographer and designer who finds the beauty and humor in the mundane, and had the great pleasure of learning her story and interviewing her about her style. Her aesthetic is a colorful, minimalistic approach to product and still life photography. Her main avenue for this work is showcased on Instagram. She took time to meet me at a local bakery and I loved getting to hear about her inspirations and passions. I highly recommend checkout out her website, and following her on Instagram.
Here are some of the images I made for the project!
Big Ideas
This image and the next were partially inspired by some of the repeating mini figures & dinosaurs seen throught some of her colorful portfolio.

Sarah features a lot of images that have been digitally repeated, so I wanted to honor that style with one of my images!
